HARDENED STEEL

All of our watches are made from 316L surgical-grade stainless steel. This typically measures 200HV on the Vickers hardness scale; however, after our signature hardening treatment is applied, we are able to achieve a hardness rating of almost 1200HV. With this additional protection against the typical scratches and swirls that otherwise occur all too often during the rigors of everyday life, you can wear our watches without worry, using them like the robust tools they’re intended to be.

SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL

Cut from synthetic sapphire and measuring 9/10 on the Mohs hardness scale, the Freediver’s crystal is virtually impervious to scratches. Colloquially referred to as a “box style” crystal, its design is reminiscent of the plexiglass crystals that graced watches from a bygone era. A thick layer of clear anti-reflective coating on the underside eliminates glare for easy reading even in direct sunlight, while also enhancing clarity to such a degree that the crystal itself all but disappears.

THE DIAL

This particular iterations of the Freediver makes use of a lacquered dial to achieve its glossy finish. The brass dial blanks are first sprayed using an enamel paint before going into a specialized high-temperature oven, after which they are hand polished until a lustrous sheen has been realized. The faceted hour indexes are meticulously filled with Swiss Made BGW9 Grade A Super-LumiNova and then hand-applied with maximum precision. Models with a date window at the 6 hour position feature a distinctive polished frame which complements the overall design of the dial.

THE HANDS

The diamond-cut hands are milled from a solid block of brass and then meticulously polished before being filled with the same Swiss Made BGW9 Grade A luminescent material used in the bezel and the dial's applied indices.

THE CASE

Constructed from hardened 316L surgical-grade stainless steel, the Freediver’s 200-meter water-resistant case was engineered to thrive in every element. Serving as a testament to our commitment to the smallest of details, you’ll enjoy observing the way light dances around the polished chamfers that highlight the transitions in finishes. The mirror polished mid-case is ever so slightly convex in form, lending the Freediver yet another point of enhanced visual interest.

THE BEZEL

Hidden beneath the bezel insert lie the ceramic ball bearings responsible for our best bezel action yet. The 120 click unidirectional coin-edged bezel exhibits a polished ceramic insert with Swiss Made BGW9 Grade A Super-LumiNova filled minute and hash markers. The ceramic bezel insert’s unparalleled hardness ensures that the Freediver's rotating bezel will remain scratch-free and looking new through every adventure.

The bezel functions as a minute timer — just rotate it counterclockwise until the circular marker is aligned with the minute hand. As the minute hand advances, the circular pip remains in the same position and a quick glance at the bezel reveals how many minutes have elapsed since the setting of the timer.

THE CROWN

The coin-edged crown with embossed logo screws down snugly and smoothly into the side of the Freediver's hermetic case thanks to a decoupling mechanism that prevents it from winding the movement while being screwed down. A carefully engineered triple gasket system helps to uphold the integrity of the 200-meter depth rating.

THE MOVEMENT

Within the hermetically sealed, 20 ATM-rated case beats the workhorse that powers the Freediver. The no-date variants make use of the Japanese Made Miyota 9039 movement, while those with a date complication at the 6 hour position utilize the 9015. A fully mechanical high-beat movement automatically wound by the movement of the wearer, the 9 series caliber oscillates at 28,800 beats per hour and will keep on ticking for decades. A 24 jeweled, hand-windable movement with hacking, the 9 series was introduced by the Japanese firm as an alternative to the Swiss Made ETA-2824. One could argue that the 9 series calibers are actually technologically superior to their Swiss counterparts thanks to their 42 hour power reserve and slimmer profile.

All of our movements are regulated in four positions for enhanced timekeeping tolerances. This process involves manually adjusting the length of the mechanical movement’s hairspring, fine-tuning it to keep even better time than what their manufacturer advertises. After regulation in four positions, the 9 series will typically run between -10 to +20 seconds a day.

THE BRACELET

Forged from 316L stainless steel and tapering from 20mm to 16mm, the bracelet’s solid and fully articulating links echo designs from the Swiss bracelet purveyor Gay Frères. Made with a rigorous lifestyle in mind, the robust bracelet has undergone the same proprietary hardening process as the case. Precisely machined from stainless steel, the buckle exhibits polished chamfers on either side. The inside of the clasp is painstakingly hand polished with a perlage finish, because even the smallest of details matter. Quick-release spring bars make it easy to remove the bracelet for strap changes, while the buckle’s six micro-adjustments and the removable links' large flat head screws allow the bracelet to be sized to your exact liking with ease.

QUICK-ADJUST CLASP

Effortlessly adjust the size of your bracelet and get the perfect fit at all times thanks to our tool-less micro-adjustable buckle. With six different positions spaced 1.35mm apart, you can make your bracelet incrementally smaller or larger with the push of a button. No screwdrivers. No screws. No frustration. Oh, and it includes two additional half-links to ensure a comfortable fit for every wrist!

TRAVEL CASE

Our genuine leather travel case stays true to the utilitarian nature of the TRASKA brand. We value form; but not at the expense of function. Even when traveling light is a necessity, this leather pouch is small enough to go with you and ensure the safety of your timepiece. This isn’t packaging that will gather dust in the closet — it’s an elegant yet practical accessory you’ll want to travel with wherever you go.

Where have you been all my life!!!

"What an amazing watch. I get lots of complements about the watch and people have even asked me for the website to purchase this watch. It feels so balanced. I’ve read many reviews about this watch which indicates that it’s a Rolex alternative. Quite frankly this watch is not just a Rolex alternative but rather a superb alternative to something’s that’s so difficult to obtain."

Solid in and out of the water.

"I got my freediver right before leaving on trip, so I broke it in like any good driver should and strapped it on for a week long surf trip. I easily swapped the quick link bracelet for a rubber strap and off we went. It was comfortable in and out of the water and tough enough to handle the surf. No problems no complaints. Love the look, easy to read even in mid day sun/glare. The dial has great contrast and legibility. A perfect watch for this type of trip."

The hype is real.

"The Traska Freediver is an amazing piece in every way. Fit and finish is fantastic. Bracelet is solid and I have to say I really wish that more brands would do the hardened steel on the bracelet. I have a few Omegas and they scratch when you look at them. This Traska is bullet proof. I engaged customer service with a question and they had a prompt response and we’re professional. I’m very impressed."

Exceeded Expectations

"After wearing my Freediver I am beyond impressed. This watch has every feature any collector could possibly want. Smooth & solid bezel, beautiful dial, sapphire crystal, unreal scratch resistance Vickers rating, solid Miyota movement, 200 meters, and half links with a no tool micro adjust. I do not understand how this watch sells for under $740, but I’m not complaining. It also feels good to support an American watch company that is able to compete with the Swiss and Japanese giants (yes, the watch is that good. ). This is my first Traska, but it won’t be my last."

Beautiful!

"Love my new edition to the Traska lineup, the blue is amazing and everything function flawless. I've received many compliments on it. It's at the top of the rotation now!"

That blue…

"Recently, I decided to sell my Tudor BB 58 because I really wanted a handful of GADA watches that don’t represent a luxury investment. I bought two Seiko dive watches that I like very much, but I wanted a blue dive watch to complement them with classic proportions similar to the Tudor. I zeroed in on the Freediver in Chaouen blue and since I received it, I can’t seem to take it off my wrist. The blue color is simply incredible. A rich lacquer finish that always stays blue. In many ways, I like it better than my Tudor. It’s more comfortable, looks amazing, and the scratch protection really works. Well done Traska!"

Beautiful Watch!

"I can’t stop looking at this watch!! I also can’t stop telling my wife to look at it haha. It love the black and white combo. Crisp is a good word! It feels so well made and with the hardening process I get to wear this watch with peace of mind. With this being a sub $1K watch that’s well built and looks good…it’s 5 start perfect. So you might be wondering why 4 stars? I think the only thing that keeps getting at me is the loud automatic movement. Quite often do I hear it spinning around on my wrist. While I’ve heard some love the sound, I feel like it’s a little loud for me. Some might say it sounds broken, others would say it sounds like it’s grinding, and I might agree. While this is not a deal breaker for me, it’s the reason for the 4 star because I’m constantly thinking about it. I still wear this watch everyday and can’t stop looking at it!! An amazing watch that I have already told so many about. Highly recommend!"

Great value - almost perfect

"I have lived with this watch for a few months now and it is a stunner. It wears well, keeps accurate time, and is for sure value at this price. Thoughtful touches run throughout the design. Very impressed. My only gripe is the hand and marker lume do not match. The applied markers are bright white, while the very beautiful polished hands are almost gray fill. Reached out and confirmed it is known design quirk. It doesn’t ruin the watch, just very noticeable (to my eye). Other than that - very nice watch. I would consider another from them in a different line."

GREAT watch, can’t state that

"GREAT watch, can’t state that enough. Quality is amazing! Love the brand and can’t wait to see what the future holds for it! Looking forward to maybe another meteorite dial venturer!"
