HARDENED STEEL

All of our watches are made from 316L surgical-grade stainless steel. This typically measures 200HV on the Vickers hardness scale; however, after our signature hardening treatment is applied, we are able to achieve a hardness rating of almost 1200HV. With this additional protection against the typical scratches and swirls that otherwise occur all too often during the rigors of everyday life, you can wear our watches without worry, using them like the robust tools they’re intended to be.

SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL

Cut from synthetic sapphire and measuring 9/10 on the Mohs hardness scale, the Summiteer’s crystal is virtually impervious to scratches. Colloquially referred to as a “box style” crystal, its design is reminiscent of the plexiglass crystals that graced watches from a bygone era. A thick layer of clear anti-reflective coating on the underside eliminates glare for easy reading even in direct sunlight, while also enhancing clarity to such a degree that the crystal itself all but disappears.

THE DIAL

Two concentric circles divide the hand-applied Swiss Made BGW9 Grade A Super-LumiNova hour markers into subsections, giving the semi-matte dial a sector-esque appearance reminiscent of Art Deco dial designs from the 1930s. The center of the dial is embossed, creating a three-dimensional effect that can only be truly appreciated when seen in person.

THE HANDS

Light dances off the highly polished finish of the diamond-cut minute and hour hands, adding zest to an otherwise understated dial. Filled with Swiss Made BGW9 Grade A Super-LumiNova, the strong luminescence makes for easy reading even in dim light.

THE CASE

Understated yet robust, the Summiteer sports a scratch-resistant case hewn from surgical-grade 316L hardened stainless steel. Serving as a testament to our commitment to the smallest of details, you’ll enjoy observing the way light dances around the polished chamfers that highlight the transitions in finishes. The case’s design is further elevated by the ever so slightly convex nature of the mirror polished mid-case, with sides that bulge out just enough for the discerning wearer to appreciate how every detail has been meticulously considered.

THE BEZEL

The stainless steel bezel is topped with brushed sunburst finish that contrasts neatly with a thick, highly polished chamfer, lending the fixed bezel an even balance of opulence and restraint.

THE CROWN

The crown screws down snugly and smoothly into the side of the Summiteer’s 100M water resistant case thanks to a decoupling mechanism that prevents it from winding the movement while being screwed down. A high-polished chamfer separates the coin-edged portion from the embossed TRASKA logo on the outermost surface.

THE MOVEMENT

Automatically wound by the motion of the wearer, the Japanese Made Miyota 9039 caliber oscillates at 28,800 beats per hour and will keep on ticking for decades. A 24 jeweled, two step, hand-windable movement with hacking, the 9039 is a true no-date movement. Introduced by the Japanese firm as an alternative to the Swiss Made ETA-2824, one could argue that the high-beat 9039 caliber is actually technologically superior to its Swiss counterpart thanks to its 42 hour power reserve and slimmer profile.

All of our movements are regulated in four positions for enhanced timekeeping tolerances. This process involves manually adjusting the length of the mechanical movement’s hairspring, fine-tuning it to keep even better time than what their manufacturer advertises. After regulation in four positions, the 9 series will typically run between -10 to +20 seconds a day.

THE BRACELET

Forged from 316L stainless steel and tapering from 20mm to 16mm, the bracelet’s solid and fully articulating links echo designs from the Swiss bracelet purveyor Gay Frères. Made with a rigorous lifestyle in mind, the robust bracelet has undergone the same proprietary hardening process as the case. Precisely machined from stainless steel, the buckle exhibits polished chamfers on either side. The inside of the clasp is painstakingly hand polished with a perlage finish, because even the smallest of details matter. Quick-release spring bars make it easy to remove the bracelet for strap changes, while the buckle’s six micro-adjustments and the removable links' large flat head screws allow the bracelet to be sized to your exact liking with ease.

QUICK-ADJUST CLASP

Effortlessly adjust the size of your bracelet and get the perfect fit at all times thanks to our tool-less micro-adjustable buckle. With six different positions spaced 1.35mm apart, you can make your bracelet incrementally smaller or larger with the push of a button. No screwdrivers. No screws. No frustration. Oh, and it includes two additional half-links to ensure a comfortable fit for every wrist!

TRAVEL CASE

Our genuine leather travel case stays true to the utilitarian nature of the TRASKA brand. We value form; but not at the expense of function. Even when traveling light is a necessity, this leather pouch is small enough to go with you and ensure the safety of your timepiece. This isn’t packaging that will gather dust in the closet — it’s an elegant yet practical accessory you’ll want to travel with wherever you go.

Simplicity at its finest

"This watch is nothing short of perfect. The oxblood red is the perfect color it’s subtle in most lighting but is gorgeous when you get it out in the sun. Bracelet and finishing is amazing and love the micro adjust clasp. This is my work watch for the office and never have to worry about banging this thing up with the scratch resistant coating."

A beautiful timepiece

"Such a great watch to wear and look at, love the honeycomb dial."

"Love my watch. Haven’t taken it off since I got it. I have an almost 8 inch wrist. I was worried it would look to small, but I wanted something comfortable. This checks all the boxes. Gorgeous."

Great Design, Great Execution, Great Value

"The Traska Summiteer 36 is an outstanding watch. The design and proportions are incredibly tight and balanced. I measure the case closer to 37mm and it has the (rather subjective) wrist presence of a 38mm with that large dial-to-bezel sizing. It looks absolutely perfect on my ~7 inch wrist. The slimness of the case, low overall weight and balance between the watch head and bracelet makes it super comfortable to wear all day. Adding to that comfort are the female end links giving it a great wrist-hugging drape. The on-the-fly adjustable clasp means I can keep it at just the right snugness so that it is comfortable without sliding around my wrist. A bracelet this comfortable makes it hard to go back to other, lesser bracelets on some of the other watches in my collection. The super clean design of the dial makes it incredibly easy to read at a glance while the recessed section in the center gives it just enough visual interest to make me linger just a few seconds longer than I actually need to. I don't tend to rough up my watches much, but the hardness coating is no joke. This thing looks pristine despite spending much of the last couple of weeks on my wrist (often while typing at work. ) I have watches that cost twice as much that had picked up scratches on their clasps within days. Not so with the Summiteer. This watch is everything you need a watch to be and more. Even on days when I don't wear it to work, I find myself putting it on when I get home. It is like like that comfy pair of shoes or that hoodie you always wear. It's in that perfect sweet spot of "just right. " It never screams for attention, it is just quietly competent in everything it does."

"Been a year+, I wear it constantly. The Miyota is a bit noisy, but it’s never more than 15 secs off over a week. It’s my GADA. Cycling, snorkeling, bushwalking, work. It’s on my wrist. Surprisingly, the lume lasts for hours."

The Only Watch You Need! Worth Far More Than What It’s Offered For

"With its 100 m water resistance, screw-down crown, beautiful surface finishing, case and bracelet hardness that is six times greater than that of many $10,000+ exploration watches, a classic domed sapphire crystal, and a beautifully unique dial and handset, this watch is a true go-anywhere, do-anything timepiece. It replaces several watches in my current collection, including the Seiko SNE573 and the Citizen BN0118-04E. Considering all of this, I believe the Traska Summiteer is worth far more than the price at which Traska offers it."

"Awesome watch to wear as your daily. Rugged and highly scratch resistant. Beautiful watch."

Better than I imagined

"I was looking for a watch with the dimensions of the BB54 because I've been thinking about how it felt on the wrist every since I tried one on. But I don't really feel like shelling out thousands for a brand name. All the online reviews of Traska have been amazing, but once I got it in hand, I haven't taken it off since. Great dimensions, impressive scratch resistance, and just lovely on the wrist. I scratch my watches within hours of wearing them because I do a lot of cooking, handiwork, and music playing, so my hands are always moving and bumping into things. After a few weeks, there is NOTHING on this watch, and it is blowing my mind. I didn't think I would love this watch as much as I have. Thanks, Traska!"

Summiteer 36 Pine Green

"I have bought, sold and owned a number of watches from vintage to 'affordable' to luxury Swiss, German and Japanese brands and I believe that this Traska holds its own with many of those simply in terms of quality alone, however, when you take into account the price of this watch versus the quality that you receive, especially in comparison to the prices of some of those big name brands and their popular models (which I am not knocking, simply comparing to,) then the appeal of Traska suddenly increases quite a bit in my opinion. The Traska Summitteer's bracelet gives you tool-less micro adjustments, a very nice clasp all-around, screws instead of pins to make sizing easier, and is all and all extremely nice for its price point, and actually extremely nice for far above its price point. I like how the Summitteer and most of Traska's other designs are very 'classic, timeless or versatile' in appearance and offer more of a subtle tool look without sacrificing the actual 'tool' features. . . so with what seems like Traska as a whole, not just this model, you can get the benefits of hardened steel without an overly tool-like appearance and also without an exorbitant price tag like you might end up paying for something similar from another brand. I bought the 36mm size. My wrist is 7-7. 25" and I am a 5'10" male. If you have a similar wrist size and haven't worn a 'smaller' watch before, you might find that it looks a little small immediately after trying it on for the first time, especially if you have been used to wearing a larger watch for a while, but that feeling will likely go away after not even an hour or so and it will look fine from then on. . . or at least it did for me. Personally, I am very happy I chose the 36mm over the 38mm. The Miyota 9039 movement has been completely fine so far and is seemingly comparable to a Sellita SW200 or an ETA 2824-2. If you need to regulate it, it can be done pretty easily, and mine reliably runs a few seconds fast per day and I don't have any problems with positional variance (whether the watch is sitting on a dresser all day, being worn casually, or being worn during physical work/strenuous activities, it reliably gains more or less a few seconds per day and doesn't really deviate from that despite position, physical activity or lack thereof. ) I don't really notice any major magnetism problems either. I have had to put a few watches on a demagnetizer in the past though. Not a big deal. 100 meters of water resistance is good for me. I've had the watch in a pool, in a sink and in the rain. . . and it's fine. If I ever happen to find myself doing something very extreme and water-related, well, frankly, I'll be wearing my Breitling Superocean Professional A17345. No offense Traska, but that particular Superocean has a water resistance of 1524 meters / 5000 feet, so that's pretty far down, and according to Breitling, the case of the Superocean Professional model is brushed so that it "avoids glinting liable to attract potentially aggressive fish," (I'm not making that up,) and I figure if I am going down all the way to 1524 meters, I need all the help I can get, so I'll definitely want the brushed case to avoid being accosted by any aggressive fish that I might encounter as I am descending into the fathomless depths, at least until I get far enough down to where sunlight can no longer reach and glinting is no longer a problem, but apart from situations like that, the 100 meters of water resistance that the Traska Summitteer offers is fine. . . All in all, I definitely recommend this watch and have been wearing it a lot since owning it and will continue to do so. It just works and it looks good in a modern yet classic sort of way. It's lightweight due to its size, easy to wear, and the tool-less micro-adjust is very convenient in the summer. The dial and hands are easy to read and the lume works well. The customer service has been excellent too."

Excellent dial and finishing

"My second Traska, after the Commuter. Love the few numeric indices to improve readability compared to the Commuter. Great manufacturing. Would buy again. Adding some photos to show how it looks in reality."
