Venturer GMT Meteorite

Sale price$965.00 USD

An increasingly interconnected world demands resilience, sophistication, and the ability to navigate multiple challenges at once. Thanks to an independently adjustable hour hand, you can quickly adapt to a new timezone the moment you land on the runway. And with an additional hour hand circling around the dial once every 24 hours, keeping track of the time at home has never been easier. Ruggedly endowed with 150 meters of water resistance and TRASKA’s signature scratch-resistant stainless steel and sapphire crystal, this traveler’s GMT (Ref. 4215) is unfazed by adventure and ready for the unknown.

Made from a piece of the 4.5 billion-year-old Muonionalusta meteorite, every dial is unique. Before entering Earth’s atmosphere, the Muonionalusta meteorite cooled in the vacuum of space, resulting in an exquisite configuration of geometric shapes known as the Widmanstätten pattern. This pattern exists only in nature and cannot be replicated. Limited to 100 pieces.

HARDENED STEEL

All of our watches are made from 316L surgical-grade stainless steel. This typically measures 200HV on the Vickers hardness scale; however, after our signature hardening treatment is applied, we are able to achieve a hardness rating of almost 1200HV. With this additional protection against the typical scratches and swirls that otherwise occur all too often during the rigors of everyday life, you can wear our watches without worry, using them like the robust tools they’re intended to be.

SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL

Cut from synthetic sapphire and measuring 9/10 on the Mohs hardness scale, the Venturer’s crystal is virtually impervious to scratches. Colloquially referred to as a “box style” crystal, its design is reminiscent of the plexiglass crystals that graced watches from a bygone era. This particular sapphire crystal also boasts a thick layer of clear anti-reflective coating on the underside — eliminating glare for easy reading even under direct sunlight.

THE DIAL

Made from a piece of the 4.5 billion-year-old Muonionalusta meteorite, every dial is unique. Before entering Earth’s atmosphere, the Muonionalusta meteorite cooled in the vacuum of space, resulting in an exquisite configuration of geometric shapes known as the Widmanstätten pattern. This pattern exists only in nature and cannot be replicated. The faceted hour markers are meticulously filled with A Grade BGW9 Swiss Made Super-LumiNova and then delicately applied by hand with maximum precision.

INTERNAL ROTATING BEZEL

Take in an additional time zone at a glance with the Venturer’s distinctive internal rotating bezel. Use the screw-down crown at the 10 o’clock position to adjust the luminescent Arabic numerals to correspond with the time difference you want to account for.

THE HANDS

The multi-faceted diamond-cut hands slope up on either side and then taper off to a flat plane with brushed finishing, creating a subtle visual effect that is pleasing even when not consciously registered. Filled with Grade A Swiss Made BGW9 Super-LumiNova, the strong luminescence makes for easy reading even in dim light.

THE CASE

Water resistant to 150 meters and hewn from a solid block of 316L stainless steel, the Venturer’s case is treated with TRASKA’s signature hardening process to enhance its resilience to scratches and scuffs. Polished chamfers run parallel along the case sides, with visual interest further stimulated by the slightly convex nature of the mirror-polished mid-case.

THE BEZEL

Complementary brushing techniques work in harmony to give the fixed stainless steel bezel an even balance of splendor and restraint. Sunburst brushing on the top gently teases the eye, while a mirror polished chamfer on its outermost perimeter adds just the right amount of glitz.

10 O'CLOCK CROWN

The screw-down crown at the 10-hour position operates the internal rotating bezel used to display an additional time zone of your choosing. While the overall aesthetic is similar to the time-setting crown, an embossed globe motif replaces the logo on the outermost surface in a nod to its intended function.

3 O'CLOCK CROWN

The screw-down crown used for setting the time and date at the 3-hour position exhibits a high-polished chamfer separating the coin-edged portion from the embossed TRASKA logo on the outermost surface.

THE MOVEMENT

Powered by the fresh-to-market Miyota 9075 movement, the Venturer features a true traveler’s GMT complication. An additional hour hand sweeps smoothly around the dial over the course of 24 hours, keeping track of the time at home while the independently adjustable local hour hand can be easily set to the timezone of your newest destination. Automatically wound by the motion of the wearer, the Japanese-made caliber oscillates at 28,800 beats per hour and features a 42-hour power reserve. A 24 jeweled, hand-windable movement with hacking, date and GMT complications, the 9075 will continue to tick for generations with proper care and periodic servicing.

All of our movements are regulated in four positions for enhanced timekeeping tolerances. This process involves manually adjusting the length of the mechanical movement’s hairspring, fine-tuning it to keep even better time than what their manufacturer advertises. After regulation in four positions, the 9 series will typically run between -10 to +20 seconds a day.

THE BRACELET

Forged from 316L stainless steel and tapering from 20mm to 16mm, the bracelet’s solid and fully articulating links echo designs from the Swiss bracelet purveyor Gay Frères. Made with a rigorous lifestyle in mind, the robust bracelet has undergone the same proprietary hardening process as the case. Precisely machined from stainless steel, the buckle exhibits polished chamfers on either side. The inside of the clasp is painstakingly hand polished with a perlage finish — because even the smallest of details matter. The buckle’s five micro-adjustments and the removable links’ large flat head screws allow the bracelet to be sized to your exact liking with ease.

QUICK-ADJUST CLASP

Effortlessly adjust the size of your bracelet and get the perfect fit at all times thanks to our tool-less micro-adjustable buckle. With five different positions spaced 1.5mm apart, you can make your bracelet incrementally smaller or larger with the push of a button. No screwdrivers. No screws. No frustration. Oh, and it includes two additional half-links to ensure a comfortable fit for every wrist!

TRAVEL CASE

Our genuine leather travel case stays true to the utilitarian nature of the TRASKA brand. We value form; but not at the expense of function. Even when traveling light is a necessity, this leather pouch is small enough to go with you and ensure the safety of your timepiece. This isn’t packaging that will gather dust in the closet — it’s an elegant yet practical accessory you’ll want to travel with wherever you go.

Beyond expectations

"I am fascinated with this watch, I have bought the bottle green version and the colour, make, precision and comfort of this watch are absolutely beyond what I imagined I was buying. The strap is elegant yet sporty, and very comfortable, the micro adjustments make it an everyday perfect fit. The watch itself is beautiful to look at and as a pilot extremely useful when traveling around the world. I’m truly flabbergasted!"

Love this watch!

"Big fan of the GMT. I got the green. It’s darker than expected but really enjoy it now. The GMT function is seamless with the second position back and forth adjustment. Everything in the dial is super clean and the movement glides. The quality is certainly present throughout the watch and shoots above the price. Will be all future models."

First “big boy” watch

"This is my first watch over $400 and you can immediately see the quality on the first touch. The band is unbelievable, the case, crowns, and feel are splendid. If you see a dial you like, you can trust the rest of the watch will live up to your expectations"

Zack G. (5/5)

Un reloj muy honesto

"Si con la versión anterior, consideraba que posiblemente era uno de los mejores GMT calidad precio, con ésta última versión me atrevería a afirmar que lo es sin ninguna duda. Víctor"

Great watch at any price point.

"I've honestly forgotten when and how I first learned about Traska. And, like many, spent a while thinking about which model in their range was the right one for me. And I kept coming back to the Venturer GMT. There is something cool about a GMT complication. Maybe it evokes a jet set feeling from times past, maybe it's that you can quickly remind yourself what time it is in New York when you're in London without having to search through menus on your phone, I don't know. But I guess this is a big reason that I settled on the Venturer. Like some, I missed the last release back in February. And I was kind of bummed about it but I'm actually kind of glad I did now. Not that the previous generation was bad but I love some of the latest changes. I know some have complained about the price increase but, honestly, this is still a great value watch and the improvements are worthwhile. Most watch brands nowadays are just hiking up the prices and giving us nothing in return. The pictures don't do it justice at all. You need to experience this watch on your wrist to get the hype. The quality of it is superb at any price point, let alone the $1,000 range. And you can tell, this is watch made for watch people by watch people. This isn't just some fancy trinket that looks nice in a Jewelers window, it wears brilliantly but also has some great features that's you'll appreciate in the long term but are largely hidden if you only see the watch at a brief glance. Things I love: - The overall bracelet quality is honestly INSANE at this price point. It looks great, feels great and doesn't pinch your arm hairs like so many others do. - The micro adjust on the clasp. - The hardened steel. This is great idea, I don't know why luxury watch brands don't do the same. - The dial radiance and general aesthetic of the watch. It's classic yet modern. Things I like: - How comfortable the watch is. I usually don't like bracelets all that much but this bracelet is as comfortable as any of my strap watches. - How easy it is to set everything. - The value is ridiculous. So much watch for the money. Things I'm not sure about: - The movement accuracy. It's been running about 20 secs a day fast so far for me. Nowhere near as good as my other mechanical watches. - I can take or leave the rotating inner chapter ring. - It's maybe on the small side for me, but on the other hand the smaller size helps it wear more comfortably. - Having to wait for it to become available. It's basically been five months between releases. Granted, there have been a lot of upgrades in the meantime. But, still. Overall, I'm incredibly impressed with my Venturer GMT and I hope to enjoy it for years to come. If you are on the fence about buying one, then I can tell you that five seconds after seeing it on your wrist and the doubt will disappear completely. That's a bit of a leap of faith, I know. But I can pretty much guarantee you, you'll feel many things when wearing the watch. Disappointment won't be one of them. - Just to clarify I did not buy a Venturer GMT Meteorite. I purchased the new Venturer GMT Bottle Green."
